Depave Chicago

Depave Chicago, a nonprofit organization whose initiative is to transform paved land into healthy, life-supportive green spaces while working with communities, needed a re-brand. After initial discovery, I designed a brand identity that showed their mission but also hinted at the construction aspects of depaving. To achieve this I used Depave’s iconic yellow along with bold typography. The word Depave in this concept shows filled letter forms to represent untouched pavement, while the “D” shows negative space in the shape of Chicago to symbolize the unearthed lived space Depave works towards.
